Seminar Series

NESS conducts a regular seminar series featuring talks by social scientists based at UQ and from further afield. Since March 2014 NESS has organised 13 seminars on topics spanning: how to achieve environmental change, water policy, market segmentation, resilience, environmental economics, environmental psychology, health and wellbeing benefits of nature, climate change communication, mental models, participatory processes, and environmental citizenship. The seminars have been presented by researchers from within UQ, and from universities in other parts of Australia and overseas.

Our Seminars

Annual symposia

NESS hosts annual half-day symposia, each organised around a specific theme with invited speakers. These symposia provide an avenue for researchers, industry experts and policy makers to network and form potential collaborations.

PhDs and ECRs Workshop

A PhD and ECR workshop was held in September 2016 at the University of Queensland. The aim of the workshop was to strengthen collaborative networks across Schools and Institutes at the University, and to provide a platform for skills and knowledge sharing about undertaking social science research about environmental issues.
